Maine Coon Adoptions

California-based No-Kill Cat Rescue

Urgent Rescues

The kitties on this page are in urgent need of help. They are in shelters that do not have no-kill policies, or their owners can no longer care for them. We need to find foster homes or adoptive families for these sweet kitties immediately or they may be put down. If you are interested in adopting a Maine Coon mix, please consider one of these kitties. If you would like us to courtesy list an urgent kitty for you, please fill out and submit a courtesy post form.

MCA doesn't have enough foster space to rescue all of the kitties who need our help. If you can provide foster care for these kitties, even on a temporary basis, please e-mail mainecoonadoptions@gmail.com.

**URGENT Calypso [CP]

HI!  My name is Calypso – or you call me by my nickname Cali - and I am super sweet and I love to chase string!  I love to be brushed and petted.  I love to cuddle up to a person or sit in laps.  I’m a tad shy when I first meet new people but I warm up quickly, especially if you have a treat for me!  I need a new home because my current Mom is never home….and I don’t have much time to find one!  I’m  in great health and I’m a young liveley14 years old, which is the equivalent of the 70's in human years. My blood panel shows that my liver, kidney and thyroid are all in great shape. My teeth have been checked recently by my vet and he said that they all look good.  I’m up to date on my vaccines and rabies.  If I don’t find a home by the middle of October, my owner will take me to a cat sanctuary where there are over 700 cats…that will be a bit too much for me to handle and I am sure I won’t be happy there.  So how about it? Lake County kittensLake County Animal Care and Control always has lots and lots of kittens and mama cats looking for homes throughout the spring and summer! So if you're looking for an adorable kitten or young mama cat with kittens, please check the Lake County web site (but realize that it could be a bit out of date as they are so busy...). The kittens in the photo have been adopted but are a sample of the kittens that they have... so come make the drive north and see their great kitties! They are a small rural shelter with few resources and they need your help to save as many animals as possible. They are about 2 hours from Oakland and their kitties are worth the drive!
