The kitties on this page are in urgent need of help. They are in shelters that
do not have no-kill policies, or their owners can no longer care for them. We
need to find foster homes or adoptive families for these sweet kitties
immediately or they may be put down. If you are interested in adopting a Maine
Coon mix, please consider one of these kitties.
MCA doesn't have enough foster space to rescue all of the kitties who need our
help. If you can provide foster care for these kitties, even on a temporary
basis, please e-mail
elaineln@pacbell.net
.
Click the pictures to see each kittie's adoption flyer.

My name is Mindy and although I am about a year and a half old, I still look like a kitten and will probably always look like a kitten. So if you like the kitten looks but not the crazy hyper kitten behavior, then I'm the girl for you! I'm very sweet and love attention and even love being carried around like a baby. I also love playing tug-o-war with my string toy - I will latch onto the string and stand on my back legs kind of like a mini-kangaroo. Cool, huh? I'm very well behaved and don't scratch furniture (I use my cardboard scratching board instead). I need to be an only kitty. I'm a gray tabby with short hair and green eyes. I've been spayed, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots.

I need a home URGENTLY please! My family is moving and can't keep me.
My name is Gnomie, as in "to gnomie [know me] is to love me" -- get it? And it's true!!! I am a gentle Maine Coon mix with long gray-and-tawny hair, four white paws and golden-green eyes. When I was younger I was a street kitty but have spent the last few years with a loving owner in a fabulous home where I was affectionate -- yet independent. Unfortunately, I now need a new home and would do best in a home that has a safe indoor-outdoor environment for me. I promise to wait at the door to greet you when you get home and shower you with affection and comfort you for the rest of my days. I'm nine years old but that's just middle-aged for us kitties so there are plenty of days left for me to give you that love and affection. I am okay with other cats and dogs but not particularly good with noisy environments or very young children. I weigh 10 pounds, have been neutered, have had my shots and am a strong and healthy -- not to mention smart, playful and loyal -- boy. I am in San Jose.

Help – I need a new family urgently! My name is Tike. Kind of like Mike but with a 'T' as in TERRIFIC! I'm a beautiful white cat with black markings who appears to have some Turkish Van in me. In case you didn't know, Turkish Vans are known to be very intelligent and I'm no exception. And not just intelligent (or "bright" as some prefer) but sensitive and perceptive. It's kind of like I'm a great person in a cat's body. I just turned five and am in great health -- but I did once get a little over-excited chasing a feathered toy on a string so would do best in a home without children that would over-excite me. That's why I need a new home: my family has children on the way so it's best for me to find a new home. Otherwise, I'm just a great catch. I'm social, affectionate and happy to sit in your lap and soak up the attention — or maybe just take a nap. I weigh 12 pounds and have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots. I'm in San Jose.

I am the lovely Sandy, a beautiful white Maine Coon mix who has found
herself in a pretty awful place - a "kill" shelter! I am shy at first and
sometimes I can be a bit hissy - but wouldn't you be if you lived in one of
these places? I am eight years old and am a solid girl at 18 lbs! I am in
Fremont on the East Bay

Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet' had a tragic ending, and our story almost did,
too. We're a brother and sister
who were almost put to sleep because our owner was going out of town for three
months!
The vet rescued us, but now we're stuck in kennels, sad and lost as to what
happened.
We are gentle and sweet, who would want to abandon us?
The pictures don't show us off well, but we have lovely eyes, short hair — a
perfect matched pair.
We miss having a home! We're thirteen years old, but are healthy and still
have multiple good years left in us.
We've been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative and are up to date on
all our shots.
We are living in a vet's office in Napa and transportation can be arranged!
Our previous owner will pay our vet bills for life.
Will you step in and change our tragic story to a happily-ever-after?

My name is Diamond. Right now, I'm kind of a diamond in the rough because I've
found myself in a high-kill shelter. But, after nursing me back to my polished
brilliance, the staff has learned that I'm as outgoing and friendly as they
come. I love all people and reach out to everyone that walks by my kennel,
hoping they will pick me. My loving and engaging personality really makes me
the ideal cat for almost any kind of family and home. I have been spayed,
microchipped and tested negative so I'm ready! Please reference number A077100
when you call and ask about me. I’m in a Fremont area shelter.
