Our Overlooked Kitties

Here are some of our kitties that, for some reason, have been overlooked by adopters. Perhaps they are a bit "mature" (i.e. older), or a bit shy, or... who knows why? We know that all animals give back far more love than we can ever give them, and so we hope you will consider one of these kitties.

Charlie

Charlie

Hi there, I'm Charlie! I'm about three years old, which means I'm still a cheeky young chappie, so naturally my favorite thing to do is play, play, play! Toys, paper bags -- if I can, I'll play with it or in it. My favorite toy is the pink fluffy thing on a stick, which I’ll pounce on and then carry around the room in my mouth! I love pouncing on my sister, although she's not so crazy about that game. It's not all fun and games with me, though; I like to snuggle, too, as long as I can get to know you first. I get along well with other kitties, but I'm a bit shy on my own so I'd like to be adopted with my sister Claudia or with another kitty friend. I have tested positive for FIV, but that's really no big deal as long as we all get along. The virus can only be transmitted by a deep bite, and FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives. You can see my well-rounded purrsonality in my video: http://youtu.be/DK-XF3p3bZA.

Clarissa

Clarissa

Hello! My name is Clarissa. You may remember the name from Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, a novel about a high-society woman. Well, let me tell you that, although I would do just fine in high society (with my formal black and white markings), I would also find all those social events insufferably boring. You see, at the age of a year and a half, all I want to do is play, play, play. I can play with just about anything, but my favorite toys are bouncy balls, which I can catch mid-air or bat with my paw to bounce on the ground. Maybe I can play basketball in the next Olympics! What do you think? I can be a little wary and skittish when I first meet people but am very affectionate once I learn to know and trust you. Then I will make sure to come up and let you know that I'm ready for a little affection and play time. I do OK with other kitties, but I'd prefer to be an only kitty -- all the more playtime for me! I'm confident enough to go to a home with dogs, but probably wouldn't be the dog's buddy. I have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative, and am up to date on all my shots. Claudia

Claudia

Hi there! My name is Claudia, not a name you hear very often, but then again, I’m not a kitty you see every day. First of all, take a look at my striking tortie markings and lined eyes! Also, I just love to play with toys or feathers, and I love petting. I even love sitting on laps, on beds (or pillows) and cuddling with people. Just see how much I love getting pets: http://youtu.be/0muqw_YFmnM.I am about three years old, and I get along great with other kitties. My brother Charlie and I love playing and chasing each other, and then we'll snuggle up on a chair together. I have tested positive for FIV, which sounds alarming, but it's really not. FIV+ kitties can live long, healthy lives, and we can share a home with other cats if we all get along because the virus can only be transmitted by a deep bite. I have a best pal named Charlie, but I can be adopted on my own.

Noelle

Noelle

Hello! My name is Noelle. I got my name because I was found in a parking lot on Christmas, so I like to think of that day as my First Noel (see, you can tell I have a great sense of humor). I'm a young girl at one to two years of age and very friendly. I am the kind of kitty who will greet you when you come home and follow you around and hang out near you to keep you company. I'm not as crazy about other cats or dogs so would be happiest to be your only animal companion. I am still a little cautious and learning what it means to be loved and in a home, and I would do best with a person who understands cats and without young children (older children are probably okay). I love to play and enjoy toys and other good kitty stuff. I have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative, and am up to date on all my shots.

Vivian

Vivian

My name is Vivian and did you know it means, “lively?” That’s a pretty good name for me because I am certainly a lively girl when it comes to getting –and giving – love! I love sitting with my family getting pets and purring, playing with my fishing pole toys, or responding with enthusiasm when you shake the bag of treats. I have super soft gray fur that’s really fluffy and just wait until you see my “bush seat” or “pantaloons” as they are known in the cat world – you know, those fluffy back legs that we Maine Coon mixes are so well known for. I am about nine years old which is only early fifties in humans years (now, don’t you know a lot of “lively” fifty year old humans?) and my liver, kidney, and thyroid are all in great shape, per the blood work that my vet did. I am a tad tentative at first with new people but just shake that bag of treats and you’ll see just how lively I can be! I will shine in a home where I can be an only kitty. I am spayed, up to date with my shots, tested negative and am microchipped. So how about it? Ready for this sweet and lively girl to come into your life? Maybe my video will convince you: http://youtu.be/dPpStXhOrx0.
